Revelation 19 - Events in Heaven

Chapter 19 Deals with a series of events in Heaven that affect the final things in Revelation.

  1. The Judgment Seat of Christ.
  2. The Lamb’s Marriage Supper.
  3. The Doom of the Beast & False Prophet.
  4. The Second Coming of Christ.

The Scriptures Mention 7 Judgments That span from the cross of Christ to the beginning of the eternal state.

  1. The judgment Seat of Christ.
  2. The believer himself.
  3. The believer’s work.
  4. The nations.
  5. The nation of Israel.
  6. The fallen angels.
  7. The Great White Throne Judgment.

The Bema Seat

2 Corinthians 5:10: "For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that everyone may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.”

The Judgment Seat

Was a raised place mounted by steps; a platform, tribune, used of the official seat of a judge. The Bema was also used to denote a raised stand or platform in Grecian games to award the winning contestants. For many, it will be a day of reward and honor; yet there will be those present who will also suffer loss. (2 John 1:8)

When Will The Bema Seat Happen?

"Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts; and then shall every man have praise of God" (1 Cor. 4:5)

The judgment Seat of Christ will take place at the rapture of the church. (I Thess. 4:17)

A Time of Accountability

“Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts; and then shall every man have praise of God.” (1 Cor. 4:5)

The 5 Crowns of the Believers:

The Crown of Life

The first crown is required for entrance into Heaven. The "crown of life" is referred to in the following Scriptures:

James 1:12 (KJV) Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love Him.

Rev 2:10 (KJV) Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.

Rev 3:11 (KJV) Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.

The Incorruptible Crown

Mentioned in 1 Corinthians 9:25, this reward is given for attaining mastery over the "old man"--the person we were before being saved--and it awaits each of us who lives for the Lord with singleness of purpose. We are to live daily with the goal in mind.

The Crown of Rejoicing

This is a special reward for soul winners. 1 Thessalonians 2:19-20 affirms that souls won for Jesus will make us worthy of this crown. What an award must await the Apostle Paul, not only because of the Thessalonians he won to the Lord but also for the host of others he led to Calvary as well!

The Crown of Righteousness

In 2 Timothy 4:8, Paul wrote to Timothy, “Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the Righteous Judge, will award me on that day and not only me but also to all who have longed for His appearing."

The Crown of Glory:

This seems to be a special reward for the faithful Pastor who willingly feeds his flock week after week. The Apostle Peter discussed the reward in 1 Peter 5:2-4,"Be Shepherds of God's flock that is under your care, serving as overseers--not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not greedy for money, but eager to serve, not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock. And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that never will fade away."
