Proverbs 28 - Justice, Righteousness, & Grace (notes)

Proverbs 28 - Justice, Righteousness, & Grace

Proverbs 28

  • God’s Justice is greater than man’s. God’s justice is pure, man’s justice is based on revenge, God’s justice is righteous and true.
  • Evil men do not understand justice, but those who seek the Lord understand it fully. Proverbs 28:5
  • We will be given revelation about God’s justice as we seek the Lord.

God Judged Sin

  • And when sin was judged sickness was also judged according to Isaiah 53.
  • No sickness can stand in front of a holy God.
  • When we come into God’s presence all evil, including sin that caused sickness must bow to God’s presence.

Our Body

  • Is the temple of the Holy Spirit and when the Holy Spirit dwells in His Temple, all sickness must leave the temple because sin was judged on the cross.
  • Can be holy and healthy.
  • Is the dwelling place of God’s presence and as He dwells in us, anything evil must flee, including sickness.

Principles

  • God is exalted in power and In His justice and great righteousness, He does not oppress. Job 37:23
  • God wants us to give justice to the poor.
  • Don’t accept bribes. Deut. 16:19
  • Don’t withhold justice from the alien, the fatherless of the widow. Deut. 27:19

The Lord

  • Is a God who has always been concerned with the needs and cares of the poor.
  • Ecclesiastes 5:8 when all Israel heard the verdict the king had given; they held the king in awe, because they saw that he had wisdom from God to administer justice.
  • I Kings 3:28
  • If you see the poor oppressed in a district, and justice and rights denied, do not be surprised at such things; for one official is eyed by a higher one, and over them both are others higher still.
  • Ecclesiastes 5:8

How God Looks At Generosity:

  • Psalms 112:5 Good will come to him who is generous and lends freely, who conducts his affairs with justice.
  • Justice means fairness or reasonableness, especially in the way people are treated or decisions are made.

Anyone

  • In a position of authority must be a person of character.
  • A person of Godly character will not abuse their authority.
  • This is how justice is administered.
  • This is why Godly government is so important to any society.
  • Justice is something we all should strive to walk in.

Righteousness

  • Is always behaving according to a religious or moral code.
  • Is like a breastplate to the believer.
  • In Jesus we are made the righteousness of God in Him.

Every Believer can live a Godly life in righteousness and deal justly with everyday situations.

When The Church

  • Is righteous it will deal with situations with justice.
  • Example of Acts 6.
  • When the church was having problems with food distributions to the widows.
  • The church picked deacons to take care of the problem.

Isaiah 53

  • Demonstrates the righteousness, justice and grace of Almighty God.
  • Shows how God dealt with the works of the devil.
  • Is a picture of God’s justice.

Grace

  • Faith is the atmosphere of Grace.
  • We are entering a revival of Grace. When legalism sets in the anointing lifts from that person, place, church etc.
  • Grace is favor, the difference between law & grace.
  • Grace is more severe than the law ever was. For example, the law says, don’t murder, Jesus said, If I call my brother a fool, I am guilty of murder.
