A Move Of God - Rebuilding Zion (notes)

A Move Of God - Rebuilding Zion

Throughout history we have seen great moves of the Spirit of God. Some impacted nations, others large cities and small villages but they were all legitimate moves of God.

God’ New Move is bigger than anyone, any one church, any one denomination or organization of Christian Television network.

God Has Promised To Restore His Church

Acts 3:17-30 talks about the process to restoration.

The Process To Restoration

  • Repentance means to change our mind and purpose, turn around and return to God. A new mind set, new attitude and view.

Repentance Leads to refreshing (revival) of recovering from the effects of heat of reviving with fresh air may come from the presence of the Lord.

Ezra

  • Talks about the rebuilding of the temple in Zion after 70 years of exile and captivity in another country.
  • The exiled Jews returned to Jerusalem to rebuild it and its temple.

Nehemiah

  • Talks about rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem while Ezra talks about the rebuilding of the temple.

Ezra 3

  • Gives us a very clear picture of how the people responded to the rebuilding process.
  • Verse 10 says the builders laid the foundation of the temple of the Lord.

If We Are Going to rebuild Zion (a place where God’s presence can dwell) we must first lay a solid foundation.

  • The teaching of the Word of God.

a. The foundation of worship

b. The foundation of praise

It’s All About Intimacy with God.

Worship is about intimacy with our Creator.

Jesus is coming for a glorious church without spot or wrinkle.

(Eph. 5:25-30)

Praise & worship lays a solid foundation for His presence to come and stay with us.

King David

  • Instituted a 24/7 worship system in Jerusalem, and the temple was not even built in his life time.
  • We must worship all the time if we are going to build a place where Jesus can live with us.

Where Does True Worship Start?

  • With praise and thanksgiving. What is praise? Words that express great approval or admiration.
  • I will enter His gates with thanksgiving in my heart; I will enter His courts with praise.
  • Worship is when we enter the Holy place of intimacy with God.

Worship Says

  • I love You God and I know You have all the power to do anything. Miracles happen in the presence of Jehovah.

The Priests

  • Put their garments on. We are a kingdom of priests and to build a place for God to dwell we must put our garments of praise on.
  • Took their trumpets and played. We must use our mouths to praise Him.

The Levites Took the cymbals and took their place to praise the Lord as prescribed by David king of Israel. We must have the right attitude when we come into God’s presence.

With Praise & Thanksgiving They sang to the Lord: He is good; His love to Israel endures forever. God is good and His love to us is forever.

  • Paul talked about how deep, wide, high and powerful the love of God is. God is love and we need His Spirit to grasp it.

All The People

  • Gave a great shout of praise to the Lord when the foundation of the temple was finished. But many of the older priests and Levites and family heads, who had seen the older temple, wept aloud, while many others (younger ones) shouted for joy.
  • We can’t live in the past but in the now and future of what God will do.

Let’s Lay A solid foundation to build a place here where God’s presence will not depart.
