Signs of Revival - Live Like Jesus (notes)

Signs of Revival - Live Like Jesus

Haggai 2:4-9

I am with you, says the Lord of Hosts. My Spirit is in your midst, do not fear. Once more in a little while, I am going to shake the heavens and the earth. I will shake all nations and they will come with the wealth of all nations and I will fill this house with Glory says the Lord of Hosts. The silver is Mine and the gold is Mine, declares the Lord of Hosts. The latter Glory of this house will be greater than the former, says the Lord of Hosts. I will give peace.

Principles (Acts 3:19-21)

  1. Repent (change your mind & purpose).
  2. That your sins may be erased.
  3. That times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord.
  4. He may send the Christ (anointing).
  5. Whom heaven must retain until the time for the complete restoration of all that God spoke by His prophet.

Repentance:

To have a new way of thinking, a new way at looking at our world. If we are going to see what God desires to do in these days we must have a new attitude, a new way of thinking; seeing things as God see.

What Is The Holy Spirit Saying To Us?

  • God is going to shake the world.
  • And those things that can not be moved will not be effected.
  • The Kingdom of God can not be shaken.
  • We are part of the Kingdom of God.

Principles

  • In every move of God there has always been a shaking in the world.
  • In the last move of God the shaking will be greater but the last move of God will also be the greatest manifestation of the Glory of God.
  • God’s loving kindness will not be removed from us during this world wide shaking.
  • No weapon formed against us will prosper.
  • Hebrews 12:26-29, Isaiah 54, Isaiah 65:17-24.

Acts 1:8

  • You will receive power after the Holy Spirit comes upon you.
  • You will be witnesses unto Me.
  • In Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and to the whole world.

What One Characteristic Is Needed In This Revival?

1. Love. Loving God and loving each other

  • I John 2:1-6
  • Loving our brothers and sisters in Christ shows we are walking in the light.
  • Hatred towards any brother shows we are walking in the darkness.

Love I John 3

  1. Demonstrates that we have passed from death to life. V.14
  2. Hatred is like murder. V.15
  3. Was demonstrated by how Jesus laid down his life for us. V.16
  4. Demonstrated by sharing with each other. V.17
  5. Each other was the command of Jesus Christ. V.23

I John 4

  • Let us love one another, for love is from God, and he who loves is born of God and is coming to know and understand God. V.7
  • He who does not love has not become acquainted with God for God is LOVE. V.8
  • God send His Son into the world so that we might live through Him. V.9
  • This is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us. V.10

If God Loved Us

  • In Giving His Son to die for us we ought to love one another. V.11
  • If we love each other God lives & remains in us and His love is brought to perfection in us. V.12
  • By this we know that we live in Him and He in us because He has given us His Spirit. V.13

A Sign Of Real Love

  • Giving. We become more generous. God so loved the world that He gave… We love like God when we give.
  • There is a difference between giving to help a needy person and tithing. The tithe belongs to the house of God. Offerings are when we give to the poor, to another ministry or to a believer in need.

What Happens When We Live A Life of Love?

  1. God will be seen in us.
  2. The world will know we are His.
  3. God’s presence will be in us and the world will want what we have.
  4. Miracles will be the norm in our fellowship.

Revival - A Renewed Love (notes)

Revival - A Renewed Love

Principles: (Acts 3:19-21)

Repentance means to have a new way of thinking, a new way at looking at our world. If we are going to see what God desires to do in these days we must have a new attitude, a new way of thinking; seeing things as God see.

What Is Revival

  • It is when the church experiences times of refreshing, of recovering from the effects of heat, of reviving with fresh air.
  • It is when the church recognizes that it is either dead or on life support and needs God to come and revive us.
  • It is when the people of God recognize that we can not go any further as we are, we need divine intervention.

Principles

  • In every move of God the anointing (the Christ) of Jesus comes upon the people of God so we can do the work that needs to be done in that period.
  • The people of the last move of God usually fight the current move of God more than anyone else.
  • In every move of God there is always misunderstanding by the church about manifestations, teachings, behavior etc.

Why We Need Revival In Our Nation?

  • The American church is doing the same things the world is doing.
  • Alcoholism, drug abuse, immorality, divorce, lying, porn, gossip, etc. etc.

What One Characteristic Is Needed In This Revival?

  • Love. Loving God and loving each other.

I Corinthians 13

  • The behavior of love is found in this chapter.
  • The power of love over all other traits.

How Love Behaves

  1. Love is kind
  2. Love is patient
  3. Does not envy
  4. Does not boast
  5. Is not proud
  6. Is not rude
  7. Not self seeking
  8. Not easily angered
  9. It keeps no records of wrongs
  10. Does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth
  11. Always protects
  12. Always trusts
  13. Always hopes
  14. Always perseveres
  15. Love never fails

The Best Cure

  • For a sick church is love. When we return to our first love, Jesus will visit & heal his church.
  • A mature believer is known by the love demonstrated.
  • For a lukewarm believer is to return to our first love.
  • For a troubled mind is the love of God.

Visitations

  • Are threatening because people are not accustomed to change. We like things to be predictable. We get into ruts and we need God to get us out.
  • Show us how big God is; so God will take us through the Word and reveal His love to us in many wonderful ways.
  • Are demonstrations of God’s love and so we get a whole new picture of God. We see how much he loves people and how miracles are demonstration of His love.

What We Need To Look At In This Revival?

  1. Our relationship with Jesus. 1 Jn. 2:3-6
  2. Our relationship with each other. I Jn. 2:9-11
  3. Our relationship with the world. 1 Jn. 2:15-17

The World Includes

  1. The cravings of sinful man (craving for sensual gratification).
  2. The lust of the eyes (greedy longings of the mind).
  3. The boasting of what he has & does (Assurance in one’s own resources or stability of earthly things).

How A Believer Matures:
Eph. 3:13-20

  1. Through love.
  2. Through love growing in the inner man.
  3. Through faith working through love.
  4. By being rooted & grounded in love.

What The Spirit Is saying to the church right now:

  • If we seek Him we will find Him.
  • If we knock on heaven’s door it will open.
  • If we ask for revival it will happen.

Revival - Signs of Revival (notes)

Revival - Signs of Revival

Principles
(Acts 3:19-21)

  1. Repent (change your mind & purpose).
  2. Your sins may be erased.
  3. Times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord.
  4. He may send the Christ (anointing).
  5. Whom Heaven must retain until the time for the complete restoration of all that God spoke by His prophet.

Revival Will Come In Concert With A Massive Move Of:

  1. Repentance (a new mind set).
  2. Turning to God that your sins may be erased.

Times of Refreshing

  • Of recovering from the effects of heat, of reviving with fresh air.
  • Are needed in the church when we become parched and on life support.
  • Happen in every move of God, in every revival.

Principles

  • In every move of God the anointing (the Christ) of Jesus comes upon the people of God so we can do the work that needs to be done in that period.
  • In the last move of God everything will be restored to the church so the church can get the job done before the return of the Lord.
  • Heaven is retaining Jesus until that period of restoration of the people of God to a glorious church without spot or wrinkle.
  • We need to learn from the mistakes of the church in past revivals.
  • We need to allow past moves of God to die so the new move of God can happen.
  • This new move will be accompanied with great signs and wonders and the greatest harvest in church history.
  • The Glory of God will be manifested in this revival like we have never seen.

Time Of Visitation

  • Luke 19:44 “And shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another; because you did not know the time of thy visitation.”
  • In the Old Testament visitation meant judgment.
  • When Jesus came, Israel was judged because they did not accept God’s gift of mercy in Jesus.
  • Let’s not miss this time of visitation.

Signs of Revival:

  1. A need for repentance.
  2. Times of refreshing.
  3. An increase in prayer.
  4. A multiplication of signs and wonders and miracles.
  5. A great in gathering of people.
  6. A passion for the presence of God.
  7. A greater revelation of God given to the church.
  8. An intensification of divine visions and dreams.
  9. Divine increase in finances in the church.
  10. Anointed worship that will touch the heart of God and impact the world.

Visitations

  • Are not always understood by the church and thus many times missed.
  • Are messy because the church is messed up and God has to come and clean house.
  • Is when God comes and sets things in divine order in His church so the glory can be manifested on the earth.
  • Are threatening because people are not accustomed to change. We like things to be predictable. We get into ruts and we need God to get us out.
  • Show us how big God is; so God will take us through the Word and reveal Himself to us in many wonderful ways.
  • Are demonstrations of God’s love and so we get a whole new picture of God. We see how much He loves people and how miracles are demonstrations of His love.

What We Need To Look At In This Revival?

  1. Our relationship with Jesus. 1 Jn. 2:3-6
  2. Our relationship with each other. I Jn. 2:9-11
  3. Our relationship with the World. 1 Jn. 2:15-17

The World Includes:

  1. The cravings of sinful man (craving for sensual gratification).
  2. The lust of the eyes (greedy longings of the mind).
  3. The boasting of what he has & does (Assurance in one’s own resources or stability of earthly things).

Example of Moses:

  • Moses could have stayed in Pharaoh’s home but he went after God. He wasn’t sure of his destiny but by obedience he saw the glory of God and fulfilled God’s purpose for his life.
  • We can move into our destiny through obedience to the voice of God. Faith comes by hearing God every day.
  • Revival is around us, all over the world God is moving.

Proverbs 30 - God’s Word is Perfect (notes)

Proverbs 30 - God’s Word is Perfect

Proverbs 30:5-6

  • Every Word of God is flawless; He is a shield to those who take refuge in Him.
  • Do not add to His words, or He will rebuke you and prove you a liar.
  • We can not make up our own ideas of God’s Word; we can not make God’s Word say what it does not say or what we think. God’s Word is clear.

When God

  • Says anything it is flawless, perfect, pure, holy, powerful, full of faith, clear, illuminating, revealing, penetrating, complete, full of truth, wisdom grace and everlasting life.
  • Speaks we must listen. It is to our benefit that we listen closely and obey what God tells us to do.
  • This is why this is the most important day of the week. We come to hear God’s Word and to obey what He says to us.

Revelation 2:7

  • Says… He, who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.
  • God is always speaking.
  • We must be in a position to hear the Word of the Lord for man lives not by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.

Principles

  • Matthew 11:15 He who has ears, let him hear.
  • Matt. 13:9 He who has ears let him hear. For this people’s has become calloused; they hardly hear with their ears and they have closed their eyes.
  • Matt. 13:16 But blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear.
  • Hearing and seeing are all based on having the right heart. A hungry heart will hear what God says and will see spiritually.

Then The Righteous

  • Will shine like the sun in the Kingdom of their Father. He, who has ears, let him hear. Matthew 13:43
  • Then Jesus said, “He who has ears, let him hear.” Mark 4:9
  • If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear.”
  • Mark 4:23 A hard stubborn heart will not be able to hear what God says or see what God wants us to see.

The Word of God

  • Is more than a book with words but the very breath of God that breathes life into our lives and gives revelation about situations that we face that we have no human way of solving.
  • Is living water for those who are spiritually thirsty. When we hear the Word of God is becomes alive in our spirits.

When God Created Man

  • He breathed into man the breath of life (spirit) and man became a living soul.
  • When man wrote God’s Word God breathed on it. Inspiration always leads to revelation. 2 Tim. 3:16
  • This is why Muslims are getting the Bible and are being completely changed, saved and now preaching the Gospel.

The Word of God

  • Brings creativity to man because it is inspired by the Spirit of God and God created everything.
  • Gives us faith because it was through faith that God created the worlds.

Every Believer

  • Can live by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.
  • Can live by faith as a result of hearing the ever living Word of God.

When The Believer

  • Delights and Meditates on the Word of God day and night he will be like the tree planted by the streams of (living) water.
  • He will be fruitful in every season.
  • What ever he does prospers.
  • He will become successful in what matters to God.

Meditation in many eastern religions means to empty the mind but to the believer it means to fill the mind with the Word of God.

Giving

  1. God gives His people commands on giving.
  2. Give God’s house 10% of your income.
  3. In giving God 10% (minimum) we enter into covenant with Almighty God. The only time God tells us, put me to the test and see if I will not open to you the windows of heaven.
  4. People concentrate on the robbing God comment but we need to look at what God promises.

In Deuteronomy 28:1

Says, “If you will fully obey the Lord your God and carefully follow all His commands I give you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth.”

Deut. 28:15

  • However, if you do not obey the Lord your God and do not carefully follow all His commands and decrees I am giving you today, all these curses will come upon you and overtake you.
  • Obedience leads to blessing and disobedience leads to cursing. Lets obey what God says and watch God command blessings upon us and our seed.

According To Galatians 3:13

Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us…

He redeemed us in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit.

What Giving Does

  1. It changes my attitude to God.
  2. I will become less selfish.
  3. I will become more caring and kind to the less fortunate.
  4. I will feel as God feels with the hurts of humanity.
  5. God will bless and prosper us.
