Proverbs 30 - God’s Word is Perfect (notes)

Proverbs 30 - God’s Word is Perfect

Proverbs 30:5-6

  • Every Word of God is flawless; He is a shield to those who take refuge in Him.
  • Do not add to His words, or He will rebuke you and prove you a liar.
  • We can not make up our own ideas of God’s Word; we can not make God’s Word say what it does not say or what we think. God’s Word is clear.

When God

  • Says anything it is flawless, perfect, pure, holy, powerful, full of faith, clear, illuminating, revealing, penetrating, complete, full of truth, wisdom grace and everlasting life.
  • Speaks we must listen. It is to our benefit that we listen closely and obey what God tells us to do.
  • This is why this is the most important day of the week. We come to hear God’s Word and to obey what He says to us.

Revelation 2:7

  • Says… He, who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.
  • God is always speaking.
  • We must be in a position to hear the Word of the Lord for man lives not by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.

Principles

  • Matthew 11:15 He who has ears, let him hear.
  • Matt. 13:9 He who has ears let him hear. For this people’s has become calloused; they hardly hear with their ears and they have closed their eyes.
  • Matt. 13:16 But blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear.
  • Hearing and seeing are all based on having the right heart. A hungry heart will hear what God says and will see spiritually.

Then The Righteous

  • Will shine like the sun in the Kingdom of their Father. He, who has ears, let him hear. Matthew 13:43
  • Then Jesus said, “He who has ears, let him hear.” Mark 4:9
  • If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear.”
  • Mark 4:23 A hard stubborn heart will not be able to hear what God says or see what God wants us to see.

The Word of God

  • Is more than a book with words but the very breath of God that breathes life into our lives and gives revelation about situations that we face that we have no human way of solving.
  • Is living water for those who are spiritually thirsty. When we hear the Word of God is becomes alive in our spirits.

When God Created Man

  • He breathed into man the breath of life (spirit) and man became a living soul.
  • When man wrote God’s Word God breathed on it. Inspiration always leads to revelation. 2 Tim. 3:16
  • This is why Muslims are getting the Bible and are being completely changed, saved and now preaching the Gospel.

The Word of God

  • Brings creativity to man because it is inspired by the Spirit of God and God created everything.
  • Gives us faith because it was through faith that God created the worlds.

Every Believer

  • Can live by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.
  • Can live by faith as a result of hearing the ever living Word of God.

When The Believer

  • Delights and Meditates on the Word of God day and night he will be like the tree planted by the streams of (living) water.
  • He will be fruitful in every season.
  • What ever he does prospers.
  • He will become successful in what matters to God.

Meditation in many eastern religions means to empty the mind but to the believer it means to fill the mind with the Word of God.

Giving

  1. God gives His people commands on giving.
  2. Give God’s house 10% of your income.
  3. In giving God 10% (minimum) we enter into covenant with Almighty God. The only time God tells us, put me to the test and see if I will not open to you the windows of heaven.
  4. People concentrate on the robbing God comment but we need to look at what God promises.

In Deuteronomy 28:1

Says, “If you will fully obey the Lord your God and carefully follow all His commands I give you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth.”

Deut. 28:15

  • However, if you do not obey the Lord your God and do not carefully follow all His commands and decrees I am giving you today, all these curses will come upon you and overtake you.
  • Obedience leads to blessing and disobedience leads to cursing. Lets obey what God says and watch God command blessings upon us and our seed.

According To Galatians 3:13

Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us…

He redeemed us in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit.

What Giving Does

  1. It changes my attitude to God.
  2. I will become less selfish.
  3. I will become more caring and kind to the less fortunate.
  4. I will feel as God feels with the hurts of humanity.
  5. God will bless and prosper us.

Proverbs 29 - A Tender Heart (notes)

Proverbs 29 - A Tender Heart

Proverbs 29:1

  • A man who remains stiff-necked after many rebukes will suddenly be destroyed--without remedy.
  • When a man is this stubborn there is no remedy for him.

Fathers

  • Have a great role to play in the development and future of their children.
  • Who have a tender heart toward God will be understanding with their children.
  • Who obey God’s Word will experience the blessing of the Lord.

A Man

  • Has a powerful role in the life of their families, especially in the life of their children.
  • Has great influence in future generations as he walks in obedience to God’s Word.
  • Can have a tender heart or a hard heart. A tender heart is obedient while a hard heart is a stubborn one.

A Foolish King

  • Rebelling against God’s commands will result in God’s hand being against us. I Samuel 12:15
  • Obedience would have given Saul a perpetual kingdom. He acted foolishly. (verse 13)
  • God looked for a man after His heart to give him an enduring kingdom. (verse 14)

Sacrifice Or Obedience

  • To obey is better than sacrifice.
  • Rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft and stubbornness is as idolatry.
  • When we reject the Word of the Lord, He will reject us.
  • We could sacrifice to God but if we are not obedient we demonstrate a hard heart.

I Samuel 15:22-26

When God Makes A Decree

  • It is established on earth as it is in heaven so when God makes a command in His Word it is to our benefit that we obey.
  • God told Israel not to make images (idols) or bow down to them. Stubbornness is like worshipping an idol.
  • A stubborn heart leads to rebellion which is the system of government satan rules by.

Blessing & Cursing

Deut. 28

  • Blessing comes through obedience.
  • Cursing comes through disobedience.
  • Obedience leads to exaltation.
  • Obedience leads to blessing.
  • Obedience leads to prosperity.

Consequences of Stubbornness
Deut. 28:16

(Which lead to disobedience):

  1. Cursed in the city & country.
  2. Curse on your basket & bowl.
  3. Curse on your children.
  4. Curse on your land.
  5. Curse on your animals.
  6. Cursed coming and going.
  7. Confusion and contrariness on everything you do.

Some People

  • Say the Old Testament is no longer applicable to us today.
  • But the sermon on the mount teaches that Grace is much more severe. Jesus said, don’t murder, but I say, if you call your brother a fool you have murdered him in your heart.

The Bottom Line

  • Is that God honors men with tender hearts who will obey God’s Word regardless of the inconvenience.
  • Stubbornness is idolatry. Is says me first then God.
  • Stubbornness is one of the worst sins that destroys people.
  • Obey God’s Word, stay flexible and God will guide and bless you.

Proverbs 28 - Justice, Righteousness, & Grace (notes)

Proverbs 28 - Justice, Righteousness, & Grace

Proverbs 28

  • God’s Justice is greater than man’s. God’s justice is pure, man’s justice is based on revenge, God’s justice is righteous and true.
  • Evil men do not understand justice, but those who seek the Lord understand it fully. Proverbs 28:5
  • We will be given revelation about God’s justice as we seek the Lord.

God Judged Sin

  • And when sin was judged sickness was also judged according to Isaiah 53.
  • No sickness can stand in front of a holy God.
  • When we come into God’s presence all evil, including sin that caused sickness must bow to God’s presence.

Our Body

  • Is the temple of the Holy Spirit and when the Holy Spirit dwells in His Temple, all sickness must leave the temple because sin was judged on the cross.
  • Can be holy and healthy.
  • Is the dwelling place of God’s presence and as He dwells in us, anything evil must flee, including sickness.

Principles

  • God is exalted in power and In His justice and great righteousness, He does not oppress. Job 37:23
  • God wants us to give justice to the poor.
  • Don’t accept bribes. Deut. 16:19
  • Don’t withhold justice from the alien, the fatherless of the widow. Deut. 27:19

The Lord

  • Is a God who has always been concerned with the needs and cares of the poor.
  • Ecclesiastes 5:8 when all Israel heard the verdict the king had given; they held the king in awe, because they saw that he had wisdom from God to administer justice.
  • I Kings 3:28
  • If you see the poor oppressed in a district, and justice and rights denied, do not be surprised at such things; for one official is eyed by a higher one, and over them both are others higher still.
  • Ecclesiastes 5:8

How God Looks At Generosity:

  • Psalms 112:5 Good will come to him who is generous and lends freely, who conducts his affairs with justice.
  • Justice means fairness or reasonableness, especially in the way people are treated or decisions are made.

Anyone

  • In a position of authority must be a person of character.
  • A person of Godly character will not abuse their authority.
  • This is how justice is administered.
  • This is why Godly government is so important to any society.
  • Justice is something we all should strive to walk in.

Righteousness

  • Is always behaving according to a religious or moral code.
  • Is like a breastplate to the believer.
  • In Jesus we are made the righteousness of God in Him.

Every Believer can live a Godly life in righteousness and deal justly with everyday situations.

When The Church

  • Is righteous it will deal with situations with justice.
  • Example of Acts 6.
  • When the church was having problems with food distributions to the widows.
  • The church picked deacons to take care of the problem.

Isaiah 53

  • Demonstrates the righteousness, justice and grace of Almighty God.
  • Shows how God dealt with the works of the devil.
  • Is a picture of God’s justice.

Grace

  • Faith is the atmosphere of Grace.
  • We are entering a revival of Grace. When legalism sets in the anointing lifts from that person, place, church etc.
  • Grace is favor, the difference between law & grace.
  • Grace is more severe than the law ever was. For example, the law says, don’t murder, Jesus said, If I call my brother a fool, I am guilty of murder.

Proverbs 27 - Reflecting God’s Glory (notes)

Proverbs 27 - Reflecting God’s Glory

Proverbs 27:19

  • As water reflects a face, so a man’s heart reflects the man.
  • 2 Corinthians 3:18 “and all of us, as with unveiled face, because we continued to behold in the Word of God as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are constantly being transformed into His very own image in ever increasing splendor and from one degree of glory to another.

What is the Glory of God and what is the significance of it?

  • The moon shines because it reflects the light of the sun, it has no power of itself.
  • Our job is to reflect the Glory of God in this world.
  • This is why Jesus called us the light of the world.

History of the Glory of God:

  • Exodus 3:2 And the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush…
  • I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land, unto a land flowing with milk and honey…

What The Glory Looked Like:

  • Exodus 13
  • The Lord manifested Himself to Israel as a pillar of cloud to guide them and a pillar of fire to give them light.
  • Pillar means column.

The Glory of God

  • Went ahead of the nation to guide them.
  • Gave Israel guidance.
  • Gave Israel light at night.
  • Protected Israel from the Egyptian army.
  • They could not see Israel; angels took the wheels off their chariots.

The Manifestation

  • Of the Glory of God was seen as thunder and lightning with a thick cloud over the mountain and a very loud trumpet blast.
  • Everyone in the camp trembled.
  • Moses led the people out of the camp to meet with God, and they stood at the foot of the mountain.
  • Mount Sinai was covered with smoke, because the Lord descended on it in fire. Exodus 19:16-18

Glory Is Doxa

  • In the N.T. which means to think, imagine, appear, glory, honor, wealth, splendor, prestige, respect, renown, fame distinction, recognition, the favorable opinion which is held regarding something.
  • The exalted stature of the believer.
  • The inheritance of His Kingdom given to believers.
  • The glory of God is attractive to the lost.

The Glory of the Lord

  • Was manifested on the Day of Pentecost.
  • Has been on the earth and will be until the end of this age.
  • Must be seen in the believer today.

Every Believer

  • Can walk like Jesus did.
  • Has been given dominion over the forces of darkness (demons).
  • Has authority over sickness.
  • Can experience supernatural power in all aspects of life in society by the glory of the Lord.

Glory Means: Elegance, magnificence, beauty, excellence of appearance, impressiveness, brilliance, splendor, depth, vastness, intensity, richness and wealth. It means power, might inner greatness, moral eminence, and majesty.

Principles

In past moves of God the glory cloud was so thick that you could hardly see, it looked like fog.

It was seen on top of buildings as a fire.

It has been seen on people as a light.

The Glory of God

Is coming to His church again in this hour.

Will be seen on people before the end of this age.

Will be seen by the world and this will attract them to the house of God.

Will be seen through great signs and wonders, great miracles and a great harvest.

What Do We Do

Seek the presence of the Lord with a new passion. As we do the glory of the Lord will be seen on us.

As we seek His face the jewels of the New Jerusalem will be seen on us. We will no longer be laughed at by the world.

The King

Has glory.

God has glory.

Wants to pour out His glory upon His heirs before the end of this age.

Proverbs 26 - Fools & Angels (notes)

Proverbs 26 - Fools & Angels

Proverbs 26:1-12 Gives characteristics of fools.

  • A fool behaves in a thoughtless or irresponsible way.
  • A wise person behaves in thoughtful and responsible way.
  • Angels watch us and are looking for wisdom in us (the Spirit of wisdom & revelation).
  • The Word produces faith and faith gets the attention of God & angels-who carry out God’s orders.

Proverbs

  • Contrasts the difference between the wise and the foolish. In these last days God is looking for the wise to shine like the stars. Jesus said, we are the light of the world. Light illuminates, produces life and pushes back the darkness.
  • Gives us revelation on how to live life in the power of God’s wisdom.

How Many…

  • People in the Kingdom are unaware of what God is doing right now when they are the light of the world?
  • God is pouring out the Spirit of wisdom and revelation.
  • Revelation comes to enlarge the playing field of faith.
  • Revelation gives us access to the realm of greater anointing available to us to make that truth personal.

God Is Pouring Out His Spirit of wisdom and revelation right now.

  • The Word has revelation hidden in it but it takes desperation & diligence to dig it out.
  • God will pour out His Spirit upon the desperate for desperation is the currency of heaven.

Angels

  • Psalm 103:20 Praise the Lord, you His angels, you mighty ones who do His bidding, who obey His Word.
  • Are waiting for believers to speak the Word of God with such faith that they go into action on our behalf when we speak.
  • First we meditate on the Word then we learn to speak it so that angels can do their job.

Revelation Was Given To Jacob in Genesis 28:12

  • About angels of God ascending and descending between heaven and earth.
  • About the ministry of angels and what they do.
  • Angels ministered to Elijah in I Kings 19:5-7 The prophet was exhausted after a great spiritual battle in Israel.
  • The angel touched Elijah and told him to eat and drink from heaven.

Sometimes

  • We are in such a spiritual battle. We can be under such pressure and stress (usually demonic) that we are tormented and we need spiritual rest and nourishment from angels.
  • This is when God can send an angel to come and minister to us.
  • Elijah’s job wasn’t done so he needed this heavenly help and God sent the angel.

God Is Here

  • To work in our lives, through healing (progressive) and miracles (instantly).
  • To draw us closer to His heart so we can know His will in this hour for our lives.
  • To open up new opportunities to touch hurting people in this area and beyond.
  • To demonstrate His Glory in our midst to show transform the culture.

God Wants Us

  • To be filled with the Spirit today and every day because this is where the power is.
  • It has been my source of strength, power and might for the past 44 years and it can be yours.
  • To walk in the Spirit every day.
