A Move Of God - Restoration (notes)

A Move Of God - Restoration

Throughout history we have seen great moves of the Spirit of God. Some impacted nations, others large cities and small villages but they were all legitimate moves of God.

Some Revivals

  • Were characterized by signs and wonders, supernatural healings and miracles. Sometimes people would fall down, shake, tremble and quake.
  • But one characteristic was that in every move of God multitudes came to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

God Has Promised

  • To restore His church.
  • Acts 3:17-30 talks about the process to restoration.

The Process to Restoration

Repentance means to change our mind and purpose, turn around and return to God. A new mind set, new attitude and view.

Repentance Leads

To refreshing (revival) of recovering from the effects of heat of reviving with fresh air may come from the presence of the Lord.

The Glory Of God is manifested in every move of the Holy Spirit.

And That He May Send to you the Christ who before was designated and appointed for you--even Jesus, whom heaven must receive [and retain] until the time for the complete restoration of all that God spoke by the mouth of all His holy prophets…

The Church Must Be restored to the glory of the first church before Jesus can return. So a great revival will take place before the return of the Lord for His church.

The One Sign of every move of God has been a great harvest.

Acts 1:8 says you will receive power after the Holy Spirit comes on you and you will be witnesses unto Me in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and until the ends of the earth.

How To Recognize A move of God:

The people of God are revived, the glory of God is seen in the church, and the harvest comes into the Kingdom.

Can We Change our world?

When God moves it is not even a question. The church will be restored with God’s power and society will be impacted.

Haggai 2

  • God will shake the heavens and the earth, the sea and the dry land.
  • God will shake all nations and the desired of all nations will come and I will fill this house with glory, says the Lord Almighty. The silver is mine and the gold is mine, declares the Lord Almighty.

Haggai 2

The glory of this present house will be greater than the glory of the former house, says, the Lord Almighty. And in this place I will grant peace, declares the Lord Almighty.

As God Sakes

The world, (the economy which affects every institution in society) the glory is demonstrated in the church.

The Move of God - Fathers (notes)

The Move of God - Fathers

Father’s Day

  • Is symbolic of the move of God.
  • Revival starts when men become the men they were destined to be.

Malachi 4

See, I will send you the prophet Elijah before that great and dreadful day of the Lord comes. He will turn the hearts of the fathers to their children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers; or else I will come and strike the land with a curse.

The Nation

That has no fathers to influence the next generation will be cursed. Let me give you some research studies of the effect fathers have on society.

But first let’s look at the types of fathers that exist.

  • Biological fathers
  • Spiritual fathers

An Overwhelming Majority of Americans agree that the fathers play an important and irreplaceable role in the lives of children.
89% agree that it is important for children to live in a home with both their mother and father.

92%

  • Agree that fathers make a unique contribution to their children’s lives.
  • Almost eight out of ten give most fathers credit for doing a good job of providing for and protecting their families. 77% for caring enough about their children’s welfare. 89% of fathers are satisfied with themselves as fathers. 94% of fathers are satisfied with their ability to talk to their children.

95 % of fathers are satisfied with their relationship with their children.

Despite All The Positive attitudes expressed by respondents, the state of fathering in America is decidedly mixed.

  • 7 out of 10 people surveyed agree that the physical absence of fathers from home is the most significant family or social problem facing America.

64% Believe

  • That most fathers have a good picture of what it takes to be a good father.
  • Only half give most fathers credit for knowing what is going on in their children’s lives.
  • 97% believe that fathers need to be more involved in their children’s education.

Fatherlessness

  • Affects 25,000,000 children.
  • According to 72% of the US population. Fatherlessness is the most significant family or social problem facing America.
  • An estimated 23.6 million (32.3%) children live absent of their biological father.

Of Students In Grades

  • 1 through 12, 39% (17.7 million) live in homes absent their biological fathers.
  • A recent Gallup Youth Survey found among US teens: 33 % live away from their father and 43% of urban teens live away from their father.

As Much As We Need

  • Biological fathers to be at home and help raise up the next generation we also need spiritual fathers.
  • Jesus had a Spiritual Father. Matt. 6:9
  • The ungodly have a spiritual father. John 8:44
  • The church needs them I Cor. 4:15 Philippians 2:22

My Goal

  • Is to be a spiritual father to my children and to those I touch in this fellowship.
  • Your goal should be to be a spiritual father at home first and then to anyone who is in need of a spiritual father in the Body of Christ.

The Move Of God (notes)

The Move Of God

The Greatest Move of God in history will take place before the coming of the Lord for His Church!

Joel 2:28

Afterward, I will pour out My Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions,

When Will This Happen?

  • When Israel becomes a nation again.
  • When the world realizes there is no hope but in God.
  • When the church cries out for revival, repents, prays and seeks the face of God like never before.

Jesus Said: When Israel becomes a nation again there will be a world wide proclamation of the Gospel then the end will come.

Matt. 24:14

A Great Harvest Is always preceded by a great evangelism effort by the church.

The Reason God sends revival is because the people of God get their eyes off their purpose and God has to fire us up about reaching the Lost.

Acts 1:8

Before This great harvest of people coming to God we need a vision from God.

  • So God sends revival to give the church its commission.

The Process

  • God pours out His Spirit
  • Prophecy is given about what God is going to do.
  • Dreams are given about the things God will do.
  • Visions result for the youth to carry out the work of reaching the lost.

A Dream: Is a sequence of images that appear involuntarily to the mind of a sleeping person, often a mixture of real or imaginary characters, places and events. Sometimes that somebody hopes for, usually something difficult to obtain.

Vision: Is the ability to see an image or series of images seen in a dream or trance, it is often interpreted as having religious, revelatory or prophetic significance.

What Happens In A Move of God?

  • There is an acute awareness of the presence of God.
  • This results in the people being hit with the reality of God’s holiness and acknowledgment of sin.
  • Which leads to massive repentance in the church.

What Happens:

  • Usually there is a gathering place where people come to be touched by God.
  • Signs and wonders, miracles and supernatural healing and deliverance from evil happens to people in that move.
  • A great harvest of people coming to God.
  • Communities and nations are transformed.

Application

  • This not a time for selfish ambition.
  • This is a time to seek God.
  • This is a time to repent.
  • This is a time to intercede for the lost (for God to raise up workers for the harvest).
  • This is a time to unite in one accord.

A Dedicated Life - A Life Well Lived & More (notes)

A Dedicated Life - A Life Well Lived & More

In The Last Chapters of Genesis we find the results of a life well lived. As we close this chapter in our study in God’s Word there is more to a life well lived.

Joseph

  • Is informed threw himself upon his father and wept over him and kissed him.
  • Orders the physicians in his service to embalm his father Israel. It took 40 days to embalm Jacob.

God’s Love

  • Is demonstrated through Joseph’s love for his family and his father.
  • Is seen in Joseph, even though Jacob is 147 years old; who shows the love in his response to the death of his daddy.

Joseph

  • Gets the blessing of Pharaoh to bury his father.
  • Goes to bury his father and pharaoh’s officials go with him with all his family. Chariots and horsemen went with Joseph to land where Abraham is buried.

When They Get To the burial place Joseph and everyone observe a seven day mourning period.

They bury Jacob in a grave that Abraham had bought.

After the burial Joseph returns to Egypt.

The Character Of Joseph is now shown in how he treats his brothers.

  1. They ask Joseph to forgive them
  2. Joseph weeps
  3. His brothers bow down before him but Joseph reassures them and forgives them.

The Great Revelation In the life of Joseph is summed up in this text: Gen. 50:19

“Don’t be afraid. AM I in the place of God? You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives. So then, don’t be afraid. I will provide for you and your children.”

Joseph Knew God and His ways and he knew that God had already vindicated him but his brothers didn’t. They are a type of carnal unbelieving Christians and Joseph is type of a spiritual man.

His Dreams Were

  • Were God given and by now understood that those dreams simply launched Joseph into his divine destiny.
  • Though it meant misunderstanding by the ones he loved the most, being sold into slavery and put in prison for a crime that he did not commit.
  • Joseph learned that the favor of God makes all the difference in a bad situation.

All These Principles Are found in the life of Joseph.

Joseph is a case study in what God will do with a life dedicated to God’s purpose. Endurance and character development are seen in Joseph.
